Pyar Si Village Substation Project – Reliable Energy for Yamethin Township
Yaung Ni Oo Electric completed the Pyar Si Village substation project in Yamethin Township, Mandalay Region, delivering a 33/11 kV, 5 MVA facility to reinforce distribution capacity and enhance electricity supply in Myanmar. The installation increases system reliability for residents and commercial users in and around Pyar Si Village, reducing outages and stabilizing voltage profiles.
Timeline, Planning, and Execution
The project was delivered within 144 working days and 1,257 total hours through disciplined scheduling, early procurement planning, and daily site coordination. Engineering and construction teams aligned activities to a detailed Gantt schedule, allowing civil and electrical works to proceed in parallel without quality compromise.
Turnkey Scope & Technical Works
Executed under a turnkey model, Yaung Ni Oo Electric handled end-to-end scope—from surveys and design to procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning—covering:
- Switchbay foundation and equipment installation
- Control building (protection relays, SCADA/controls, AC/DC supply)
- Earthing, lighting, cabling, and auxiliary systems
- Compound and switchyard fencing with drainage and access improvements
- MV/LV interfaces, relay setting/coordination, FAT/SAT, and as-built documentation
Quality assurance/quality control checkpoints were embedded across milestones, with materials and workmanship aligned to national and international standards for substations.
Overcoming COVID-19 Supply Chain Challenges
The delivery window overlapped with pandemic-related logistics constraints. Critical equipment sourced from overseas faced transport delays. The project team mitigated risks by:
- Staggering purchase orders and using buffer stock for long-lead items
- Re-sequencing civil works to maintain progress while awaiting shipments
- Tight vendor coordination and expedited clearances to keep commissioning on track
These measures ensured the Pyar Si Village substation project remained on schedule without compromising safety or performance.
Community Impact and Regional Benefits
With the new facility in operation, households and businesses in Pyar Si Village and surrounding Yamethin areas benefit from:
- Stable, uninterrupted electricity and improved voltage quality
- Greater resilience during peak demand and adverse weather
- A stronger platform for local commerce, services, and job creation
The project meaningfully advances the reliability of electricity supply in Myanmar, supporting Mandalay Region’s long-term growth agenda.
